Types of EV chargers we install and service
If you own an electric car and rely on it for daily transportation, installing an EV charger at home can be a convenient and practical solution. There are three main types of EV charging stations available for purchase and installation, but only two of the three types of stations are commonly installed for residential use.
EV Charger Level 1
This is the simplest and slowest type of charger, providing an average of 4 – 5 miles of range per hour of charging. It uses a 120-volt outlet, which makes it a perfect charging solution for households.
EV Charger Level 2
This provides a faster and more efficient charging experience than a Level 1 charger, delivering an average of 15 – 30 miles of range per hour of charging. It requires a 240-volt electrical circuit, which needs to be installed by a licensed electrician. Level 2 chargers are often found in homes and at public charging stations.
EV Charger Level 3
Also known as DC Fast Charging. This provides the fastest charging speeds, delivering up to 80% charge in as little as 20 – 30 minutes. DC fast charging requires specialized equipment and is typically found at public charging stations.
